African Drumming Classes & Workshops

Built around the fundamental understanding of the value of connection, Rise Drumming is here to bring together people from all walks of life and build community; to build confidence and resilience in individuals, and to do so through the unifying power of music and the hypnotic rhythms of West Africa.

Programs are offered for schools or community groups where a deeper dive into the music and the benefits it provides is made available. The positive effects of involvement are cumulative, and this is where the real benefits come in to play; through a shared activity, with a shared goal, in an accessible format. Bonds of friendship and community are formed while participants are fully engaged in an activity where they both support those around them and are supported by them. Add to that the release of plenty of ‘feel good’ chemicals in our brain and you will start to understand why this works as well as it does!
